Story
Susumu is typical 24 year-old working in a small town bookshop. But when is grandfather passes away, he inherits the mantle of Abbot of the Buddhist temple Eifuku-ji, the 57th stop on the famed 88 temple Shikoku pilgrimage. His new job brings daunting challenges: earning the trust and respect for the temple’s board of elders, making important decisions, and even selecting appropriate new robes. Susumu soon finds himself struggling to live up to the community’s expectations of their new spiritual leader as well as having to deaL with personal tragedy.
